Accounts Payable Manager

Accounts Payable Manager (Fully Remote)A growing, multi-location organization is seeking an Accounts Payable Manager to lead end-to-end accounts payable operations and strengthen financial controls in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.This role partners closely with Accounting, Procurement, and Operations to ensure accurate invoice processing, timely payments, and excellent vendor service while driving continuous improvement through automation and streamlined workflows. Salary: $70-90K Key ResponsibilitiesLead the full accounts payable cycle, including invoice intake, coding, approvals, payment processing, and reconciliations.Manage high-volume invoice processing with a focus on accuracy, timeliness, and service.Maintain and enforce strong internal controls over disbursements and vendor master data.Monitor aging and ensure adherence to payment terms; support cash planning through payment scheduling.Serve as the primary contact for vendor inquiries, discrepancies, and dispute resolution.Support month-end close activities related to AP, including accrual support and proper expense classification.Prepare documentation and respond to internal and external audit requests.Oversee 1099 preparation and other vendor tax-related requirements.Drive process improvements and optimize AP systems and workflows, including ERP, invoice automation, and approval routing.Develop and track KPIs, including cycle time, exception rate, cost per invoice, and discounts captured.Train, coach, and manage AP staff as applicable.QualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.5-8 years of progressive accounts payable experience.2+ years of leadership or people management experience.Strong knowledge of GAAP and internal controls.Experience with ERP systems and advanced Excel skills.Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and communication abilities.Preferred QualificationsExperience supporting multi-entity or multi-site organizations.Experience implementing or improving AP automation and workflow tools.CPA or other accounting certification is a plus.
