Equal Opportunity EEO/AA/Female/Minority/Disabled/Veteran Requirements High school diploma or equivalent preferred Vocational or Technical Certification, post-secondary degree or technical certifications preferred Basic tools, required Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines including routine preventative maintenance (oil changes, brake and tire work) Two (2) years or more of a combination of classroom training and work experience (preferred) Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) CLASS A preferred Must be able to obtain CDL within 6 months after hire Pass a Ryder Drug Test, a DOT physical, a Ryder road test, and a Ryder Background and Motor Vehicle check (last 3 years) Important Note: Some positions require additional screening that may include employment and education verification; motor vehicle records check and a road test; and/or customer-specific badging or background requirements. Responsibilities Performs vehicle maintenance and repair duties Performs standard vehicle maintenance and component inspections Performs preventive maintenance Diagnoses standard mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic equipment Identifies root cause of basic failures and performs repairs as required Replaces defective components as instructed Performs facility maintenance duties Interacts with customers/drivers to determine the nature of the complaint Uses Shop Management System and electronic documentation Complies with safety, DOT, MOT and corporate guidelines Performs other support duties as required to support operations Ryder is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer and Drug Free workplace.
