Staff Accountant

We are seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career accounting professional who has gained foundational, hands-on accounting experience and is ready to continue developing their technical skills in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. The Staff Accountant will support key accounting functions, including month-end and year-end close, account reconciliations, general ledger activity, financial reporting, budgeting, and audit preparation. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of accounting principles, some practical accounting experience—which may include internships, co-ops, part-time work, or professional experience—and is eager to grow their accounting career. Key Responsibilities: Support month-end and year-end close processes, including preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules. Prepare and assist with financial statements and reports in accordance with GAAP. Perform account reconciliations and research discrepancies to support accurate financial reporting. Assist with maintaining the general ledger and ensuring transactions are accurately and appropriately recorded. Support the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial plans. Assist with variance analysis and research to identify trends and explain financial results. Follow established internal controls, accounting policies, and applicable regulatory requirements. Support the annual audit process by preparing audit schedules, gathering documentation, and assisting with auditor requests. Collaborate with Finance team members and other departments to support accurate financial reporting and business initiatives. Participate in special projects and ad hoc financial analysis as needed. Continue developing technical accounting knowledge and gradually take on greater ownership of accounting processes as experience and proficiency grow. Qualifications : Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance Some hands-on accounting experience required. Experience may include accounting internships, co-ops, part-time employment, or professional accounting experience. About 6 months–2 years of relevant accounting experience preferred, including qualifying internship or co-op experience. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards. Advanced MS Excel skills. Knowledge of QuickBooks Online a plus Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Additional Information: Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a background check. Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. and not require employment visa sponsorship. Comfortable working in a hybrid environment and able to commute to the office at least three days per week. Excellent written and verbal communication skills — able to convey information clearly and professionally. Physical requirements: must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods as needed for event support. Must have reliable transportation to/from work. Base salary starts at $60k annually,but can be higher dependent on qualifications and experience.
