Materials ManagerThe Materials Manager at Quanta Infrastructure Solutions Group (QISG) is responsible for overall project materials management including, sourcing, procurement, logistics and on-site contractor management for the Company.What You'll DoDevelops and manages industry best material management practices and resources with clientWorks with customer approved local vendors to quickly obtain materials when expedited requests are neededWorks directly with procurement to ensure project materials adhere to construction and delivery schedules, and effectively communicate with client, project team and vendors to obtain the precise material required on timePerforms material take-offs and works with customer, engineering, project management and construction to determine necessary material for project completionManages lead times and material availability by identifying the material construction need dates, order by dates, and material decision points to be included in project schedules; including forecasting and reservation based on construction schedule or look aheadDirectly interfaces and oversees vendor shipments to ensure logistics and timely delivery of construction materials to the projectContinuously monitors changes to construction material requirements to ensure appropriate requisitions and/or revisions are efficiently addressedPrepares Materials Management Execution Plan as neededManages all aspects of receiving and issuing of all materials, equipment, tools and consumables to ensure effective, timely and accurate receipt and issue for constructionEstablishes layout of warehouse and or lay-down yard, using warehouse/material management industry best practices to safely maximize space and streamline operations to efficiently support construction effortsEnsures all inventory is handled and stored safely, according to any requirements and engineering specificationsManages and executes receiving, count, and inspection of materials delivered to construction/warehouse/ lay-down yard and addressing any discrepancy whether it be QA/QC, overage, shortage, damage, or otherObtains and resolves material related questions and/or problems, directly coordinating between project manager, engineering, suppliers, fabricators, construction, project controls or other managementPlans, manages, and executes phase bundling, structure staging and kitting to help streamline materials for constructionPerforms on-site material audits to ensure accuracy of inventoryDirectly manages, controls, and performs data input for project materials within our inventory management system (ClearSpider), to provide real time and accurate inventory reportingDirects, coordinates and supervises the off?loading and storage of materials as they are received or issued to constructionPerforms project closeout for materials, purchase orders, and other contract requirements, including obtaining proper disposition instruction of excess materialsActs as liaison between Project manager, customer, supplier, and construction management to resolve any material related issuesAdheres to internal standards, policies, and proceduresPerforms special projects and completes other duties as assigned or requestedWhat You'll BringRequired Experience and EducationHigh school diploma (or equivalent) and 2+ years of relevant experiencePreferred Experience and EducationBachelor's degree and 5+ years of relevant experienceRelevant career experience in the construction industry and exposure to EPC projects in the electric power delivery sector is preferredSkillsHighly motivated, well organized, resourceful, and proactive with a tenacious and empowering team orientated styleWell-developed written and verbal communication skillsDemonstrated problem solving experience with the ability to multi-task and apply a structured approach to complex situationsAbility to work irregular schedule and long hours required to meet required deadlinesTravel RequirementsTravel: YesPercent of Time: 25%What You'll GetCompetitive Compensation401(k) Retirement PlanHoliday PayPaid Time Off (PTO)Comprehensive Health CoveragePet InsuranceEmployee Assistance Program (EAP)Professional DevelopmentTuition AssistanceEmployee Discount ProgramEqual Opportunity EmployerAll qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment and will not be discriminated against on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin or ancestry, sex (including gender, pregnancy, sexual orientation, and/or gender identity), age, disability, genetic information, veteran status, and/or any other basis protected by applicable federal, state or local law.
