Position Overview

The Principal will join a growing private markets investment platform focused on secondary transactions and related investment solutions. The business spans a range of investment vehicles, including traditional drawdown funds, separately managed accounts, and evergreen and registered products, with a substantial and expanding assets under management base.

Working closely with senior leadership and cross-functional partners, this individual will play a key role in strengthening the operating infrastructure, financial oversight, and reporting capabilities of the platform.

\n

This newly established senior position will be responsible for supporting the continued expansion of the business and executing its long-term operating model. Key areas of responsibility include accounting, fund operations, financial reporting, and the development of scalable processes and controls. The successful candidate will drive operational efficiencies, advance automation initiatives, and work collaboratively across the organization to address complex financial and operational matters.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who combines strong technical accounting expertise with strategic thinking, operational leadership, and the ability to build infrastructure that supports a growing investment business.

Key Responsibilities

\n

• Oversee accounting, fund operations, and financial reporting across a portfolio of investment vehicles.
\n
• Support the continued development and execution of the operating model, including the implementation of scalable processes, systems, and internal controls.
\n
• Manage data integrity and governance across external service providers, fund administrators, and portfolio reporting platforms.
\n
• Review and assess budgets across multiple fund entities, identifying variances, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
\n
• Collaborate with internal teams to enhance liquidity forecasting, financial modeling, and forward-looking analysis.
\n
• Support the operational planning and infrastructure required to launch new investment products, including participation in provider selection processes and RFPs.
\n
• Coordinate responses to investor and client information requests, including those arising during fundraising and other key business initiatives.
\n
• Partner with investment professionals and teams across client relations, finance, operations, tax, legal, marketing, and technology.
\n
• Provide leadership, guidance, and quality control for junior team members.
\n
• Lead special projects and strategic initiatives on behalf of senior management.

Qualifications and Experience

\n

\n
• CPA preferred, with approximately 15 or more years of experience in public accounting, private funds, or a related financial services environment.
\n
• Extensive experience in private markets secondaries, fund-of-funds, or a closely related investment structure, including a strong understanding of fund accounting, operations, and financial reporting.
\n
• Advanced knowledge of U.S. GAAP and complex investment fund accounting matters.
\n
• Significant experience in accounting oversight, financial control, and reporting, with the ability to assume broad ownership of financial operations within a rapidly expanding investment platform.
\n
• Proven track record of enhancing operating models, developing scalable infrastructure, and leading process improvement initiatives.
\n
• Strong interest in technology-enabled transformation, workflow automation, and the responsible integration of AI into financial processes and governance.
\n
• Excellent analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving capabilities, with strong written and verbal communication skills.
\n
• Ability to work effectively across teams, exercise sound judgment, manage competing priorities, and escalate issues appropriately.
\n
• Highly organized, proactive, and detail-oriented, with strong ownership and execution skills.
\n
• Advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency required; familiarity with AI-enabled tools, Alteryx, Anaplan, or Power BI is advantageous.
