Assistant Manager

**GENERAL PURPOSE OF POSITION:** Assists in managing the operations of a Sonic Drive-In and assumes responsibility for drive-in operations in the absence of other management. Trains and supports employees to provide quality food in a clean, safe, and efficient manner, ensuring guests have an enjoyable experience. **ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:** Manages, trains, monitors, and coaches crew members, carhops, and skating carhops. Directs and assigns employees to perform duties across various stations to ensure quality standards are met during a shift. Ensures employee compliance with policies, addressing issues promptly and reporting violations. Performs opening and/or closing duties per Sonic policies. Adjusts staffing levels as needed during shifts. Maintains inventory and food cost control, completing weekly inventory as required. Completes administrative tasks accurately and maintains records. Reinforces guest-first service principles with employees. Responds promptly to guest requests and reports and resolves complaints. **ADDITIONAL DUTIES:** Performs duties across all stations to ensure standards. Operates switchboard and records customer orders clearly. Manages Drive-Thru window and sales register efficiently. Prepares fountain drinks, ice cream, and food items. Packages menu items and serves customers efficiently. Handles physical tasks such as moving food and disposing of trash. Maintains cleanliness and sanitation standards. Adheres to wage, hour, and employment laws. Wears uniform and protective equipment as required. Performs other related duties as assigned. **ENVIRONMENT:** Frequent exposure to heat, hot liquids, and freezer temperatures. Occasional exposure to extreme weather conditions. **QUALIFICATIONS AND JOB REQUIREMENTS:** Knowledge of restaurant or retail operations. Six months of restaurant management or one year retail management experience. Experience managing shifts independently. Effective communication, basic math, reading, and computer skills. Ability to follow directions, work irregular hours, multi-task, and solve problems. Works with autonomy once given direction. Compliance with policies, procedures, and laws. #J-18808-Ljbffr
