Full Time Experienced Legal Assistant / Paralegal

Job Description Job Description Phoenix Insurance defense law firm seeking a Legal Assistant / Paralegal with 1+ [recent] years' experience as a paralegal and either a college degree or paralegal certificate to become a part of our team. Personality for the position : * This is a cooperative atmosphere and also requires independent work. * Good phone demeanor for contact with attorneys, court clerks, record keepers, and experts. * Great desire and skill for concise and accurate written communication. * Learns, retains, and applies what you learn. We will teach you, help you, and guide you. Responsibilities: * Calendaring in Outlook - deadlines, reminders, and court events per civil procedure requirements. * Phone communication with attorneys, clerks of the court, record keepers, doctors and others. * Learn and apply court formatting. * Drafting notices, proof of service, scheduling experts, and review of legal documents. * Assist and help with client interviews and investigative fact finding to help in case resolution and discovery. * Develop a professional bond with attorney to ensure case success. Qualifications: * Paralegal Certificate & Previous experience as a legal assistant or paralegal (current experience over the last three years). * Working understanding of legal and court terms. * Great knowledge of Word, formatting, spelling, grammar. * Types 40 WPM with minimal errors. * Ability to take instruction. * Good knowledge of Adobe, word and Excel. * Professional and friendly phone presence. * Ability to prioritize and multitask and to work cooperatively with the attorney to understand and implement both skills. * Excellent written and verbal communication skills (grammar, word choice, formatting) * A drive for quality, production, and meeting deadlines.
