Buyer - OSM / OSP

Role Overview The Buyer OSM / OSP will manage supply chain functions and subcontract services. Duties include developing and maintaining the supply chain, placing orders for subcontract machining and processing services per technical specifications, and performing all tactical functions of Purchase Order management such as confirmations, expediting, non‑conformances, and problem solving. Key Responsibilities Source, negotiate, and purchase subcontract machining and/or processing services. Qualify and exit vendors as needed to establish an optimal supplier base. Engage in short‑ and long‑term negotiations to generate material savings and optimal fulfillment. Reduce supplier lead time. Develop and manage vendors for on‑time delivery and quality. Create advanced planning and scheduling models based on sales forecast and vendor capacity. Collaborate with Production to schedule subcontract services and minimize impact. Implement and manage vendor audit and approval policies. Manage technical information flow to vendors and enforce non‑disclosure agreements with periodic compliance audits. Drive and report on IMI responsible business initiatives to vendors. Critical Competencies for Success 3–5 years’ experience in supply chain management and material procurement. B.Tech/B.E (Mechanical, Production, Industrial) or B.S. in Business Administration is desirable but not required. Proven leadership of sourcing initiatives with demonstrable successful outcomes. Advanced knowledge of material grades, heat treatment, machining processes, and associated cost drivers. Ability to interpret and communicate engineering drawings and specifications. Track record of identifying suppliers and developing strategic relationships. Experience with ASME/Nuclear Codes and Regulations is desirable. Proficient computer skills (Microsoft Excel, Word, etc.) and ERP system knowledge. Fluent in English—reading, writing, and verbal. Pay Range $80,000 – $90,000, adjusted for skills, experience, and qualifications.
