Position: Registered Nurse (RN) – Obstetrics (OB/LDRP) $$SN$$
Location: Cooperstown, New York
Shift: Varied – 12-Hour Days/Nights (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM or 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
Duration: 13 Weeks

Job Duties

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to labor, delivery, recovery, postpartum, and newborn patients.
• Monitor maternal and fetal well-being throughout labor and delivery.
• Assist with vaginal deliveries and cesarean births.
• Provide postpartum assessments, patient education, and newborn care.
• Respond to obstetric emergencies and support neonatal stabilization when needed.
• Collaborate with physicians, midwives, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure quality patient care.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with facility policies.
• Support unit operations and mentor less experienced nursing staff as needed.

Requirements:

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Minimum 3 years of Obstetrics (OB) experience preferred.
• Candidates with less than 3 years may be considered if they possess prior travel experience or specialized OB experience.
• BLS certification required.
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification required.
• Intermediate Fetal Monitoring Certification required.
• Strong experience in Labor, Delivery, Recovery, and Postpartum (LDRP) care preferred.

Unit Information:

• Average 80–90 deliveries per month.
• 4 Labor/Delivery/Recovery rooms with private baths, showers, and spa tubs.
• 8 postpartum rooms.
• Operating rooms available for cesarean births.
• Special Care Nursery on unit.
• Traveler will play a key role in supporting a team that includes both experienced RNs and new graduate nurses.

Additional Information:

• Every other weekend required.
• Every other holiday required.
• Block scheduling may be available based on unit staffing needs but is not guaranteed.
• Travelers are generally assigned a consistent day or night schedule and are not routinely expected to rotate shifts.
