Production Worker (Open Bay)

Shift: M-F 7AM-5PM OT Saturday 7AM-3PM

Job Description

This role supports a high-volume production facility that bags decorative rocks and stones for landscaping. You will work on a production line performing physical, repetitive tasks such as bagging materials, palletizing finished products, and assisting with general labor across the facility. The position requires consistent attention to safety, cleanliness, and adherence to established production procedures.

Responsibilities

• Work on a production line to bag decorative rocks and stones for landscaping applications.
• Palletize bagged products in a consistent and orderly manner to prepare them for storage or shipment.
• Assist the designated machine operator or production team with tasks such as maintenance support, cleanup, yard work, warehouse duties, production tasks, utilities, and material handling.
• Manually move freight, stock, raw materials, and finished materials as needed throughout the facility.
• Perform repetitive tasks in a sequential order to complete assigned production activities efficiently and accurately.
• Keep the work area clean, organized, and free of debris to support safe and efficient operations.
• Use personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times and follow all safety regulations and guidelines.
• Follow company production procedures to ensure quality, consistency, and adherence to operational standards.
• Read and follow simple written or oral instructions related to daily assignments and safety practices.
• Apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but straightforward instructions in a fast-paced environment.

Essential Skills

• Previous production experience preferred in a manufacturing, warehouse, or general labor environment.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple written instructions and safety guidelines.
• Ability to understand and carry out detailed but straightforward written or oral instructions.
• Ability to follow company production procedures and safety protocols consistently.
• Ability to repetitively lift up to 40 lbs during regular production activities.
• Ability to lift up to 65 lbs as required by the physical demands of the role.
• Capability to perform extended standing, walking, sitting, bending, and climbing throughout the shift.
• Comfort working inside and outside in an open-air environment without air conditioning.
• Willingness to use fall protection equipment and comply with all related safety requirements.
• General production and general labor skills, including basic packaging, packing, and loading tasks.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in general labor, construction, or similar physically demanding roles.
• Experience in packaging, packing, loading, or material handling in a production or warehouse setting.
• Strong work ethic and reliability in attending scheduled shifts and completing assigned tasks.
• Attention to detail when following sequential steps in production processes.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a production team in a fast-paced environment.

Work Environment

The role is based in an open-air production facility that bags decorative rocks and stones for landscaping. The environment does not have air conditioning, and work takes place both inside and outside. Typical hours are Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Saturday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with extended periods of standing, walking, sitting, bending, and climbing. The position involves lifting up to 65 lbs, repetitive motion, and the use of fall protection equipment where required. Personal protective equipment must be worn at all times, and adherence to safety regulations and cleanliness standards is expected throughout the facility.

This is a Contract position based out of Fort Lauderdale, FL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.
