The Department of Surgery, specifically within the Division of Trauma and Surgical Critical Care, is seeking applications for a fellowship-trained surgeon to fill a position at the level of Associate or Full Professor . This role is part of our academically driven trauma and surgical critical care team. The selected individual will deliver comprehensive, high-quality medical care to patients requiring trauma and emergency general surgery throughout the Temple University Health System.

In addition to general, emergency, and trauma surgical duties, the faculty member will oversee the surgical intensive care unit and engage in equitable in-house call, which may include burn call responsibilities. The candidate is expected to establish and expand an elective surgical practice that aligns with both departmental and institutional goals. Depending on their experience and interests, the role may also encompass formal leadership responsibilities within Emergency General Surgery.

As a senior faculty member, the appointee will significantly contribute to the advancement of the Division’s clinical, educational, and research missions.

• Lead educational initiatives for medical students and residents
• Provide mentorship to faculty members
• Engage in quality improvement projects
• Participate in scholarly activities, with opportunities to contribute to clinical outcomes research, educational scholarship, or program development

• MD, MD/PhD, DO, or an equivalent international degree
• Board certification in General Surgery and Surgical Critical Care
• Possession of or eligibility for medical licensure in Pennsylvania
• Qualifications to meet the criteria for appointment at the Associate or Full Professor level
• Preferred candidates will have prior leadership experience and a proven track record of academic and clinical excellence
