This is a seasonal position with the opportunity to stay on at the end of the season. Company Conformance Statements In the performance of their respective tasks and duties all employees are expected to conform to the following: Perform quality work within deadlines, with or without direct supervision Interact professionally with other employees, guests and suppliers Work effectively as a team contributor on all assignments Work independently while understanding the necessity for communicating and coordinating work efforts with other employees and organizations Follow all rules, policies and safety guidelines for tasks/job Perform any additional tasks as required Position purpose To provide excellent customer service to our customers Responsibilities/Duties/Functions/Tasks Be friendly and helpful to all customers consistently Promptly greet and acknowledge every guest around you with a smile and/or verbal greeting Always put the customer's needs first above all other duties Suggest additional items to the customer Accurately and efficiently complete all sales transactions and maintain proper cash and media accountabilities at registers Ring each item on the correct key at the proper price Minimize cash discrepancies so they do not exceed + or – $5.00 per day Thank all customers at the end of the transaction Handle difficult/challenging situations with a high level of professionalism Follow simple drink recipes when preparing drinks Assist in floor moves, merchandising, and display maintenance Stock the floor as needed Keep the store clean and free of debris on the floor and counter tops Complete housekeeping tasks as needed Follow recipes and portion control of produced items in the store Dispose of cull items properly and place on the correct paperwork Responsibilities and duties are not limited to those mentioned above Qualifications Able to have basic math skills Able to follow verbal and written instructions Able to independently evaluate current conditions against standard and perform tasks necessary to bring areas to standard Special Position Requirements Must obtain California Food Handlers Certificate within 30 days of employment Cash handling is required. Cash discrepancies must not exceed + or – $5.00 per day Some exposure to cleaning products (bathroom and toilet cleansers, window cleaners, wax, wax stripper, graffiti remover, paint remover, etc.), paint, and other chemicals is required Equipment used Glass handling, deli slicer, knives, tortilla warmer, hot beverage equipment, CO2 Work Requirements Standing/walking (operating cash register, working in deli, working on floor) – Constantly Lifting up to 10 lbs (merchandising, stocking, cleaning) – Frequently Repetitive pushing/pulling (scrubbing, wiping, mopping, sweeping, scraping, etc.) – Occasionally up to 3 hrs per day Climbing, working from ladder or stepstool (stocking, merchandising, cleaning) – Occasionally Bending/stooping (merchandising, stocking, cleaning, emptying trash, retrieving litter, etc.) – Frequently Kneeling (merchandising, stocking, cleaning floors, etc.) - Frequently Lifting over 10 lbs (merchandising, stocking, emptying trash) – Occasionally Reaching (merchandising, stocking, cleaning walls, windows, mirrors, etc.) – Frequently Overhead work (cleaning walls, windows, changing light bulbs, etc.) – Occasionally Sitting (Working at a computer) – Occasional Tasks vary by day; not all tasks are performed every day. Preferences Bilingual: English and Spanish Able to read and write English Part-time Employee Benefits PAID SICK LEAVE (PSL) – Part-time and Seasonal employees begin accruing PSL at a rate of one hour for every 30 hours worked.
