Job Title: ER RN Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Emergency Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day 3x12-Hour Hours per Shift: 12 hours (07:00 - 19:30) Experience: 2 years required, first-time travelers accepted with strong experience/skillset License: Active state RN license Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIH, CPI (on-site during onboarding) Must-Have: - Charge experience required - Charting system experience required - Community hospital experience required Description: The Emergency Room RN will work in a fast-paced, high-volume general emergency department that encompasses both adult and pediatric populations. The candidate must have experience in managing a wide range of complex patient diagnoses, including multi-diagnoses in both the pediatric and geriatric populations. The primary shift is days with the possibility of rotating mids based on departmental needs. This role requires every other weekend and holidays as scheduled. Floating within the specialty and to other emergency department locations is required. Candidates should be comfortable with a patient ratio of 1:4, with up to 5 patients with lower acuity. Skills required include management of ventilated patients, central line care, administration of emergency medications, and procedural sedation monitoring. Candidates should demonstrate proficiency in a variety of emergency situations, ranging from trauma to acute illnesses. The position necessitates a strong ability to handle mental and behavioral health conditions and to manage violent behavior if necessary. The successful candidate will also be responsible for obtaining and interpreting vital diagnostic tests, including blood gases and EKGs. The ER RN plays a crucial role in patient care, ensuring the highest standards of safety and effectiveness in a dynamic environment.
