About the Position

Job Title

Registered Nurse (RN) – IMC/PCU/Stepdown

Location

Kearney, NE

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Night Shift (6:30 PM – 6:30 AM) | Onsite | Every other weekend required | Minimum of 2 holidays within contract period

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) setting with a 1:4–5 nurse-to-patient ratio, caring for adult patients with cardiac, vascular, respiratory, renal, oncology, stroke, and sepsis diagnoses
• Titrate IV drips including Heparin, Nitroglycerin, Dopamine, Cardizem, Amiodarone, and insulin per protocol
• Manage and troubleshoot arterial lines and high-flow oxygen therapy equipment
• Read, interpret, and respond to telemetry monitor strips independently
• Float as needed to Med/Surg or ICU (for PCU-acuity patients)
• Maintain a strong focus on patient experience, including responsiveness, communication about medications, and overall hospital environment standards

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) licensure
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
• Demonstrated competency with arterial lines
• Ability to independently read and interpret telemetry strips
• Valid driver's license required at time of submittal
• Artificial nails are prohibited in all patient care areas

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience in a PCU, stepdown, or IMC setting
• Experience caring for culturally diverse patient populations
• Familiarity with high-flow oxygen therapy and related respiratory support equipment
• Strong communication skills with the ability to receive and incorporate feedback
