About the Role BANA LAW is seeking an experienced Senior Litigation Paralegal to join our litigation team. This role is designed for a highly organized, proactive litigation professional who understands California civil procedure, takes ownership of deadlines, and knows how to keep cases moving from filing through trial. The Senior Litigation Paralegal will work closely with attorneys and support staff on all aspects of active litigation, including pleadings, discovery, depositions, subpoenas, court filings, calendaring, trial preparation, and client communication. This role will be supported by a legal assistant and will also provide leadership and guidance to legal assistants within the department. Responsibilities Litigation Preparation and Discovery Draft, file, and coordinate service of complaints and other litigation documents Draft and serve deposition notices Prepare and serve subpoenas for non-party witnesses, treating providers, and other relevant parties Prepare discovery requests and objections; assist attorneys with reviewing and finalizing discovery responses Coordinate process service and track completion Monitor answers, responsive pleadings, and entry of defaults Provide trial preparation and support, including filing trial documents and coordinating witness and expert testimony scheduling Court and Case Management Prepare and file pleadings and other legal documents in compliance with court-specific and jurisdictional requirements Maintain comprehensive case calendars; monitor statutes of limitation, hearing dates, discovery deadlines, and other procedural dates without exception Communicate with court clerks and opposing counsel to facilitate case progression Identify and address procedural issues before they affect a case Client and Attorney Support Communicate directly and professionally with clients regarding case-related matters Provide Spanish interpretation for Spanish-speaking clients when necessary (Spanish preferred, not required) Assist attorneys with case preparation and settlement efforts Anticipate attorney and case needs rather than waiting for assignments Resolve issues involving clients, opposing counsel, court personnel, and vendors Supervise, mentor, and delegate assignments to the assigned legal assistant Ensure delegated work is completed accurately and on time Serve as a knowledgeable resource on litigation procedure, calendaring, filings, and case management Qualifications Minimum five years of litigation paralegal experience, preferably plaintiff-side personal injury Strong working knowledge of California civil procedure, discovery rules, and state court filing requirements Experience drafting complaints, discovery, deposition notices, subpoenas, and other litigation documents Exceptional calendaring and deadline-management skills Ability to independently manage multiple cases and competing priorities Excellent written and verbal communication skills Experience supervising or mentoring legal assistants Paralegal certification preferred Spanish-speaking ability preferred, not required Pay range and compensation package Compensation: $40-$58 per hour based on experience.
