Mammography Technologist (Mobile)

JOB RELATED FUNCTIONS:

Demonstrates competency in the performance of job related skills appropriate to patient populations.


Explains procedures and educates women about the role of regular mammography in preventive breast health.


Responsibilities also include preparing dressing room, examination room, cleaning and adjusting equipment as needed.


Familiar with standard concepts, practices and procedures.


Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.


Performs a variety of tasks.


Works under general supervision.


Technologist will assist with modality procedures and patient care duties. This position requires excellent communication skills as you will be responsible for obtaining the patient history, explanation of procedure, and addressing patient concerns.

This role is fast paced and requires the ability to multi-task as well as work unsupervised.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Requires completion of a formal Radiologic Technology training program in A.M.A. approved school and preferably a minimum of one-year experience in radiology. Requires registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (A.R.R.T) in Radiology and Mammography, as well as the MRTBE (CRT and CMT). SimonMed Imaging requires a valid "Hands-On" CPR certification. Must be able to communicate effectively with physicians, patients, and the public and be capable of establishing good working relationships with both internal and external customers.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: This position may require duties including lifting and carrying up to 40 pounds, pushing and pulling more than 40 pounds, and requires pushing patients in wheelchairs, sitting for prolonged periods of time, frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching and occasional balancing and stooping. Good visual and auditory acuity as well as good manual dexterity and the ability to be readily understood are essential. Must be able to work in an environment with multiple deadlines and priorities. Must be able to work in a stressful environment. May be exposed to biohazards and chemicals as outlined in the MSDS Manual; and other hazards/unpleasant working conditions.
