Echocardiography Technologist Cardiovascular Sonographer PRN

Job Description This position performs a variety of diagnostic cardiac/vascular exams under the direction of a physician for identification of abnormalities leading to patient diagnosis. Responsibilities Performs a range of ultrasound procedures to evaluate internal organs and vessels for disease diagnosis; prepares exam room, obtains informed consent, and requests clinical histories. Reviews and evaluates completed tests for quality and completeness; ensures high‑quality images and coordinates documentation for physician partners. Documents and communicates patient information thoroughly and accurately; informs patients of physician instructions; ensures clear communication for safe hand‑offs between shifts. Monitors equipment reliability and safety; reports issues; orders and stocks supplies; cleans rooms and equipment; transports patients as needed. Actively participates in quality initiatives such as patient satisfaction and workflow improvements. Required Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent. RDCS – Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer or RCS – Registered Cardiac Sonographer (new graduates must obtain registry within 18 months of hire). Health Care Provider Life Support certification. Preferred Qualifications Associate’s degree. One (1) year ultrasound experience. Physical & Workplace Requirements Ability to see, read information and labels, assess patient needs, and operate monitors. Verbal communication skills to interact with patients and providers, especially in emergency situations. Manual dexterity to manipulate complex equipment, use a computer, and type documentation. Ability to lift, carry, and transport patients and equipment—including heavy items; ability to bend and pull/push gurneys. Ability to stand or remain in a stationary position for extended periods.
