Job Description

As a Security Officer Full Time Unarmed Roving Patrol in Reading, PA , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a government service location, you will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and provide professional customer service to visitors and staff. You will support a welcoming environment through clear communication and timely reporting. Position Type: Full Time

Pay Rate: $16.75 / Hour

• Security Experience (C115):
  Candidates must have a minimum of one year of relevant security experience. This experience should be documented and verifiable.

• Comfortable Using Computer or Tablet (B204):
  Candidates should demonstrate proficiency in using computers or tablets. This includes familiarity with basic software applications and the ability to navigate digital platforms effectively.

• Customer Service Experience (B219):
  Candidates must have prior customer service experience. This experience should highlight the candidate's ability to interact positively with customers and resolve issues effectively.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and members of the public by carrying out site-specific procedures, access-control practices, and emergency response activities at a government service center.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate personnel and/or public agencies as directed by site procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of interior areas, exterior grounds, parking areas, entrances, and perimeter locations to identify and report unusual conditions or security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, assist with directing guests to appropriate service areas, and maintain required logs and incident documentation.
• Help to deter unauthorized activity through a visible professional presence while following Allied Universal and site-specific policies.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess at least one year of security-related experience.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfortably using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
