Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Banding Line Operator to join our team in the shipping department. Your primary role will be to ensure that the banding lines on the steel are correctly applied and oversee the accurate packaging of all coils processed by the slitters on the banding line.

• Experience in production and manufacturing.
• Experience in warehouse shipping.
• Ability to operate automatic banders.
• General labor and production skills.

• Ability to work in a manufacturing environment.
• Familiarity with safety protocols in an industrial setting.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the accurate packaging of coils processed by the slitters on the banding line.
• Follow the packaging schedule as instructed by the supervisor.
• Operate automatic banders efficiently.
• Train line helpers in equipment operation for their designated tasks on the automated banding line.

Work Environment

Work within a steel manufacturing facility with exposure to moving machinery, heavy equipment, and sharp objects. Expect fluctuating temperatures based on the season, loud noise from machinery operation, and the presence of dust and airborne particles typical of an industrial setting. Adherence to strict safety protocols is required. The facility houses about 56 employees and is equipped with fans and heaters to ensure comfort.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of La Vergne, TN.

The pay range for this position is $19.50 - $19.50/hr.
