Human Resources Manager – Automotive Manufacturing

Markdom is seeking an experienced  Human Resources Manager to lead HR operations within a fast-paced Tier 1 automotive manufacturing environment. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for supporting plant operations, employees, and management across multiple shifts.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead employee relations, investigations, corrective actions, and performance management.
• Manage recruiting, onboarding, retention, and workforce planning for hourly and salaried employees.
• Coach supervisors and managers on attendance, performance, employee relations, and HR policies.
• Manage FMLA, ADA, workers' compensation, unemployment, and leave administration.
• Monitor turnover, attendance, staffing levels, and other key HR metrics.
• Ensure compliance with employment laws and consistent application of company policies.
• Partner with plant leadership on organizational changes, workforce planning, and employee engagement.
• Maintain a visible, hands-on HR presence throughout the manufacturing operation.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive HR experience, preferably in manufacturing or automotive.
• Strong employee relations and investigation experience.
• Experience supporting hourly manufacturing workforces and multi-shift operations.
• Knowledge of federal and state employment laws.
• Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
• Bachelor's degree in HR, Business, or related field preferred.
• Tier 1 automotive, injection molding, plastics, or assembly experience is strongly preferred.
