JOB DESCRIPTION

Summary

Department : Med Surg Tele - Cardiac


Shift Timings : 07:00 - 19:00 Hours 3 days 12 hour shift


Per Week : 36 Hours

A 36-room cardiac/telemetry floor. Their focus is congestive heart failure and other comorbidities. One unique thing about the unit is the fact they are the only acute care floor trained to care for patients with a left ventricular assist device (LVAD). They also see patients before and after procedures in the cath lab, with cardiac IV medications, severe arrhythmias, and cardio-renal syndrome.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Implement and monitor patient care plans. Monitor, record and communicate patient condition as appropriate.
• Serve as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
• Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
• Assess and coordinate patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.

QUALIFICATIONS

• BLS and ACLS
• National Institutes of Health (NIH)
• Sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.
• The ability to stand for extended periods.
• Strong technical skills.
• Knowledge of medical terminology
• Passionate about patient care
• Requires a minimum of two years of current RN Med/Surg experience.
• Graduate from a fully accredited RN program
• Active unencumbered and RN Iowa state license
• One year of Cerner experience

Requirements
• COVID vaccine with 2 Shots & Booster.
