JOB DESCRIPTION

Summary

Department : Cardiac Telemetry


Shift Timings: 19:00-07:00 Hours 3 days 12 hour shift


Per Week: 36 Hours

This cardiac telemetry is a fast paced surgical telemetry unity focusing on post-operative care of CABG's, valves, vascular surgeries, VATs and thoracotomies. They also see many different cardiac arrhythmias and patients' pre and post cath lab procedures. You will need to be familiar with EKG's, tele rhythm interpretation and monitoring, central line management, external pacemakers, cardiac drips, heparin drips, and chest tube management.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Implement and monitor patient care plans. Monitor, record and communicate patient condition as appropriate.
• Serve as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
• Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
• Assess and coordinate patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.

QUALIFICATIONS

• BLS and ACLS
• National Institutes of Health (NIH)
• Sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.
• The ability to stand for extended periods.
• Strong technical skills.
• Knowledge of medical terminology
• Passionate about patient care
• Requires a minimum of two years of current RN Cardiac Telemetry Med/Surg experience.
• Graduate from a fully accredited RN program
• Active unencumbered RN Iowa state license
• One year of Cerner experience

Requirements
• COVID vaccine with 2 Shots & Booster.
