Average Daily Volume: Approximately 140 patients per day
Case Mix: General emergency medicine patient mix including medical, surgical, and trauma cases

FACILITY INFORMATION

No. of Beds in Department: 37 ED beds
EMR System: Epic
Support Staff Available: RNs, APPs (24-hour coverage)

PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE

Hospital Privileges Required: Yes

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Board: BC or BE in Emergency Medicine (ABEM preferred); FM or IM accepted per facility requirements
Licenses: Active, unrestricted Florida Medical License; Active DEA with Florida address
DEA / CDS: Active DEA required
Certifications: ACLS, PALS, ATLS required (ATLS as applicable for trauma-designated sites)
Experience: Residency trained in Emergency Medicine preferred; FM/IM accepted with appropriate experience
Other Qualifications: Case logs from past two years, CME documentation from past two years, Stroke CME requirement (6 hours within 2 years or 9 hours within 3 years), Current Flu, TB, and COVID compliance

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide emergency medical care to patients across multiple AdventHealth emergency departments in a regional coverage model.
Perform all department-required procedures including intubation, central lines, suturing, and resuscitation.
Supervise and collaborate with APP coverage to ensure efficient patient throughput.
Document patient encounters accurately and timely in the Epic EMR system.
Communicate with specialists and coordinate care for complex cases requiring admission or transfer.
