Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join our orthopedic team. This role provides comprehensive medical and surgical care in collaboration with supervising physicians and involves patient evaluation, treatment planning, orthopedic procedures, perioperative care, and participation in quality improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate is committed to delivering patient-centered care and thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced orthopedic practice environment.

Responsibilities:

Patient Care & Clinical Management
Assess, diagnose, and treat medical and orthopedic conditions in accordance with practice protocols.
Obtain medical histories and perform comprehensive physical examinations.
Order, perform, and interpret laboratory studies, imaging, EKGs, and other diagnostic tests.
Manage acute and chronic medical and surgical conditions.
Notify physicians of abnormal patient conditions and consult specialists as needed.
Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation while ensuring HIPAA and PHI compliance.

Orthopedic Procedures:

Perform therapeutic procedures including injections, immunizations, wound care, and infection management.

Conduct orthopedic procedures such as:

Joint injections and aspirations
Fracture and dislocation reductions
Casting and splinting
Dressing changes
Laceration repairs
Prescribe and administer medications, orthotics, braces, and orthopedic devices according to established protocols.

Qualifications:

Master's degree from an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program.
Current Illinois license as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner.
Current BLS certification.
Active DEA registration.
Controlled Substance license.

Experience

Orthopedic experience required.
Experience with office, clinic, and operating room procedures is highly desirable.
Strong knowledge of pharmacologic therapies and orthopedic treatment modalities.

Work Schedule & Environment

Practice setting includes office, clinic, and operating room environments.
Participation in call rotation required.
