As a Physical Therapist, you can expect a varied caseload that may include acute care inpatients, post-surgical patients, swing bed or subacute rehab, and possibly some outpatient therapy, depending on departmental needs.Typical day-shift responsibilities include completing comprehensive evaluations, developing and progressing individualized treatment plans, coordinating with an interdisciplinary team, and providing patient and family education to support safe discharge and long-term functional gains. You will document care in the facility's electronic medical record, participate in care conferences as appropriate, and contribute to quality and safety initiatives within the department.The day schedule allows for a predictable routine, with coverage generally focused on daytime hours and potential rotation for weekends or holidays as needed to support patient care. Patient volumes and assignments are designed to support safe, quality care and allow for meaningful one-on-one treatment sessions.
