Ring's End, Inc. is seeking a determined Special Orders associate / Phone Operator support in Darien, CT in order to keep our retail operations running smoothly. As a Special Order Associate at Ring's End, you play a key role in keeping our order flow accurate, organized, and moving smoothly. You are the connection point between customers, sales staff, vendors, and delivery drivers-ensuring every special order is received, documented, communicated, and prepared with precision.

Your day is a blend of communication, coordination, and detailed order management. You notify customers when their materials arrive, verify order accuracy in IQ, organize incoming shipments, and prepare essential paperwork for delivery drivers. You keep our incoming orders structured and accessible, support the Hardware Department and Stockroom with UPS/FedEx processing, and maintain clean, reliable documentation for every order.

You also provide Phone Operator coverage , assisting callers with professionalism and directing them to the right departments. Every other Saturday, you serve as the primary Phone Operator, helping maintain smooth communication across the store.

This role is perfect for someone who enjoys staying organized, solving problems, and keeping operations running efficiently. You'll feel accomplished knowing your accuracy and communication help customers receive the right materials-on time and without hassle.

• Adaptability to Change - Ability to remain flexible and adjust to shifting priorities, vendor timelines, and incoming order volume.

• Strong Communication Skills - Clear, professional communication when contacting customers, coordinating with sales staff, and providing phone coverage.

• Order & System Proficiency - Ability to navigate IQ, vendor platforms, and internal order‑processing systems with accuracy and attention to detail.

• Basic Mathematical Accuracy - Firm grasp of basic math to verify pricing, costs, and order confirmations.

• Organizational Strength - Ability to file orders numerically, manage incoming shipments, and maintain structured documentation.

• Phone Operator Reliability - Comfortable providing phone coverage during lunch breaks and serving as the primary Phone Operator every other Saturday.
