Westchester-Putnam TheraTeam (WPTT) is hiring a licensed Occupational Therapist to supervise its Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs). The supervisor makes sure every child a WPTT COTA treats gets safe, effective care that follows the child's plan of care, IFSP, or IEP.

WPTT provides speech-language, feeding, occupational, and physical therapy to children and families in our facility, in homes, and in community settings across Westchester, Putnam, Dutchess & Orange Counties. This role blends clinical oversight, mentoring, and quality assurance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

COTA supervision

• Supervise an assigned COTA(s) in line with the NYS Education Law, Commissioner's Regulations for occupational therapy assistants, and EI/CPSE program rules.
• Keep a written supervision plan and log for each COTA, including frequency, method (in-person, co-treatment, virtual), and topics covered.
• Hold regular one-on-one supervision meetings and observe COTAs in session at homes, preschools, and the clinic both in person and virtually.
• Review COTA session notes, progress notes, and data for accuracy, timeliness, and alignment with goals; co-sign where required.
• Serve as the go-to clinical resource for COTAs on treatment planning, activity grading, sensory and fine-motor strategies, feeding and self-care, and family coaching.
• Identify performance concerns early, give clear feedback, and build development plans with HR and leadership when needed.

Qualifications

Required

• Master's or doctoral degree in Occupational Therapy from an ACOTE-accredited program (or a bachelor's degree with grandfathered licensure).
• Current New York State OT license and registration (OTR/L) in good standing.
• NBCOT certification, current or eligible for reinstatement.
• At least [3] years of pediatric OT experience, including Early Intervention and/or preschool (CPSE) services.
• Prior experience supervising or mentoring COTAs, students, or other clinicians (not required, but preferred).
• Approval, or eligibility for approval, as an EI and CPSE provider in New York State.
  
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for travel across Westchester and Putnam Counties.
