Position Overview
Epic HR is seeking an experienced Safety & Loss Prevention Manager to lead all safety, training, and loss prevention initiatives within a fast-paced distribution center environment. This role is responsible for promoting a safe workplace, ensuring regulatory compliance, overseeing security operations, and developing employees through safety training and certification programs.
The ideal candidate is a strong leader with warehouse experience, excellent communication skills, and a passion for creating a safe and secure work environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead new hire safety orientation and onboarding programs.
- Conduct ongoing safety training and annual refresher courses for employees.
- Train and certify employees on powered industrial equipment (forklifts, pallet jacks, etc.).
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, HACCP, GMP, SSOP, FDA, and all applicable safety regulations.
- Manage daily Loss Prevention and Security operations within the distribution center.
- Investigate safety concerns, incidents, and potential loss prevention issues.
- Partner with Operations, Human Resources, and management to maintain compliance and improve workplace safety.
- Conduct facility safety inspections and recommend corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate training records, certifications, and safety documentation.
- Develop and implement programs that reduce workplace injuries, theft, and operational risk.
- Train supervisors and employees on safety procedures, emergency response, and loss prevention best practices.
- Prepare reports and communicate safety performance and compliance updates to leadership.
- Supervise, coach, and support Loss Prevention and Security personnel.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- 2–5 years of warehouse or distribution center management experience in Safety, Environmental Health & Safety (EHS), or Loss Prevention.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA, HACCP, GMP, SSOP, FDA regulations, and warehouse safety practices.
- Experience training and certifying powered industrial equipment operators preferred.
- Knowledge of warehouse security and loss prevention programs.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple projects while meeting deadlines.
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
- Self-motivated with excellent attention to detail and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
