Nanofabrication Engineer/Lab Manager

Job SummaryWe are recruiting a nonofabrication engineer to support several projects related to the development and characterization of semiconductor materials and devices which enable study topological state of matter and qubits. This position is an opportunity to make crucial contributions to emerging quantum device technology. Hands-on experience with developing new process steps and flows for semiconductor device fabrication is expected. Expertise in e-beam lithography and/or atomic layer deposition and/or gate dielectric characterization methods will be considered favorably.Dutie and ResponsibilitiesDevelop, operate, and characterize semiconductor device fabrication processes in cleanroom facilities located at Purdue University.Accurately document and effectively communicate all procedures and results to the larger research group.Assist in the maintenance of equipment.Train other personnel on the correct operation of equipment and "best-practices" in semiconductor processing.What We're Looking For:Master's Degree in Materials Science or an Engineering disciplineHands-on experience working with some of the following semiconductor device fabrication equipment/processes in a cleanroom environment: e-beam lithography; atomic layer deposition; thin film metals deposition; Ar ion-millingAbility to follow protocols to operate sophisticiated experimental equipment and to safely work with industrial solvents, acids, and bases in a cleanroom environmentExcellent written and oral communication skillsProficiency at accurately documenting processes and protocolsStrong attention to detailGood organizational skills as needed to work with a large group of researchersWhat We Want You To Know:Purdue will not sponsor employment authorization for this positionA background check is required for employment in this positionFLSA: Exempt (Not eligible for overtime)Retirement Eligibility: Defined Contribution Waiting PeriodPurdue University is an EO/EA University.What You'll Get In Return:All university employees are afforded a generous benefits package, including medical/dental/vision insurance, paid time off, and retirement contributions.
