About the Role

The Company is seeking a General Counsel to be the primary legal advisor on construction law and operational issues. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the company's objectives by collaborating with various departments, including Contracts/Risk Management, Operations, Accounting, IT, HR, and Project Management. Key duties include reviewing and negotiating a range of construction contracts, overseeing the monthly filing of lien and bond claim preservation notices, and facilitating the review and approval of real estate transactions. The role also involves monitoring and coordinating pending disputes, as well as educating staff on legal topics and compliance updates. Applicants must be a licensed Texas attorney with a minimum of 5 years' experience in construction law, and have a strong background in transactional practice. The ideal candidate will have experience leading negotiations with a focus on understanding the perspectives of all parties involved. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills are essential, as is the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders. The role requires a proactive, collaborative, and flexible approach, with the ability to manage multiple projects and work under tight deadlines in a fast-paced, growth-oriented business environment.
