Service Technician I

Service Technician I Location: Canton, MS – MUST BE ONSITE W2 Contract ONLY: 2 months duration Start Date: ASAP Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm Pay Rate: $30-$35hr. The Service Technician I is responsible for providing basic technical support for the telecommunications systems through the assembly, installation, testing and maintenance of the telecommunications systems, including its equipment and peripherals. Required Qualifications:

• Ability to respond effectively to common inquires or complaints from clients
• Ability to define problems collects data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions
• Ability to work long, irregular hours, and be able to return to work on an on-call basis

Preferred Qualifications:

• Associate’s degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school
• Previous business experience in a Cisco telecommunications environment
• Experience in Microsoft Outlook and Windows based programs

Responsibilities

Essential Functions:

• Installs various types of low-voltage communications cable and wire, testing to ensure installation meets minimum transmission line standards and characteristics
• Installs and tests telecommunications terminal equipment and peripherals
• Responds to service requests as required
• Performs Move, Add and Change activities as required
• Participates in new installation and major upgrade activities
• Interprets and uses worksheets, service orders, blueprints and other documentation to ensure proper installation of products
• Prepares and maintains installation records and documentation
• Participates in Emergency On-call schedule
• Monitors and responds to system alert and notifications from UC Management Platform
• Creates and updates system performance and capacity planning reports
