This is an entry level physical job that includes the responsibility of working with heavy machinery (hoist, crane, mixer, crusher) and operating a forklift. Maintaining a clean, safe and functional work environment is critical in this role. Additionally, we offer exclusive employee discounts on both our glass and pottery products and at our restaurant.Primary Duties and Responsibilities:Performing routine maintenance as needed with support from other members of the maintenance team (e.g. changing filters, drain cleaning, shoveling, etc.)Emptying trash and recycling from and throughout the facility into dumpstersPreparing and loading the glass pellet mix used in the production of our glassRecycling of glass into the glass melting process, as well as removal of waste glass from the facilityUse a forklift and material handling equipment on a daily basisPerform regular inspections on hoist and forklift to ensure safe operating conditionsOperating a floor cleaner weekly to help keep the facility cleanSupporting snow removal and seasonal landscaping effortsComply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areaSecondary Duties and Responsibilities:Perform occasional general labor as needed, in support of maintenance staffQualifications Required:Motivated to learnMust be able to lift up to 100 lbsUsing material handling equipment such as forklifts, hoists and pallet jacks, the employee will lift and move up to 2500 pounds safely at a timeMust be motivated and able to work independentlyInterest in and some experience in a trade, such as painting, cleaning, carpentry or plumbingValid driver’s license and reliable transportationGED required – High School Diploma preferredSuccess Factors/Job Competencies:Consistency and reliabilityAbility to follow directions and processesListeningTechnical LearningPhysical Demands and Work Environment:The physical demands and work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
