THIS IS A WEEKEND POSITION, WITH THE POSSIBILITY OF UP TO TWO DAYS DURING THE WEEK. Position purpose To provide quality food products for our guests' enjoyment Responsibilities To be friendly and helpful to all customers consistently To promptly greet and acknowledge every guest around you with a smile and/or verbal greeting Follow recipes and portion control of produced items in the store Set up merchandise tables for fudge and apples Stock products as needed Keep the store clean and free of debris on the floor and counter tops Assist ice cream station as necessary Complete housekeeping tasks as needed Dispose of cull items properly and place on the correct paperwork The responsibilities and duties are not limited to those mentioned above Qualifications Able to have basic math skills Able to follow verbal and written instructions Able to independently evaluate current conditions against standard and perform tasks necessary to bring areas to standard. Special Position Requirements Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds Some exposure to cleaning products, (bleach, window cleaners, wax, wax stripper, floor cleaners etc), paint, and other chemicals is required Must obtain California Food Handlers Certificate within 30 days of employment Equipment used Melting kettle Work Requirements Standing/walking (working at coffee bar, scooping ice cream, operating cash register, etc) – C Lifting up to 10 lbs – O Repetitive pushing/pulling (scooping ice cream, scrubbing, wiping, mopping, sweeping, etc) – F Climbing, working from ladder or stepstool (stocking, merchandising, dusting) – O Bending/stooping (scooping ice cream, stocking, merchandising, emptying trash, etc) – O Kneeling (stocking, merchandising, cleaning floors, etc) - O Lifting over 10 lbs (stocking, merchandising, emptying trash, etc) – F Reaching (stocking, merchandising, cleaning walls, windows, mirrors, etc) – O Overhead work (stocking, merchandising, cleaning walls, windows, changing light bulbs, etc.) – O (Tasks vary by day, not all tasks are performed every day) Preferences Able to read and write English Previous baking and/or confectionery experience This job description is intended to outline the position in general terms, and cannot be considered comprehensive.
