Heavy Equipment Mechanic

Position Description We are seeking experienced Heavy Equipment Mechanics who will be responsible for maintaining, diagnosing and repairing a variety of industrial equipment used in construction, mining, and agriculture industries, as well as vehicle maintenance. Applicants must be dependable, honest, hardworking, have an excellent work ethic and a desire to learn/grow. Attendance during regularly scheduled work days Maintain, diagnose and repair a variety of industrial equipment used in construction, mining, and agriculture industries, as well as vehicle maintenance Have extensive knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems and be able to troubleshoot and repair equipment quickly and efficiently Conduct regular inspections, diagnostic tests, and repairs of equipment Replace or repair faulty parts, tighten bolts, change fluids, and lubricate machinery Troubleshoot equipment problems and provide technical advice to other employees Perform electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical repairs as well as preventative maintenance Determine what parts and tools are necessary to make repairs Welding Torch / plasma cutting Complete shop paperwork Maintain a clean and safe work area Ability to complete computer-based training (CBT) modules as part of ongoing job requirements Performing other shop related tasks, when primary responsibilities are complete, to include site work Other duties as required and directed. Position Requirements Dependable daily transportation Knowledge of basic safety requirements Excellent communication skills – ability to communicate verbally and non-verbally Excellent coordination skills and critical thinking skills Must have task organizational skills Maintain appropriate CDL Computer proficiency – use of iPad and/or Laptop Knowledgeable in basic construction related math and measuring Knowledge in basic hand and power tool use Must practice situational awareness skills Ability to take direction from the Shop Manager Able to work with othersMust be dependable Regularly required to stand, sit, and walk Regularly required to use arms, hands and fingers, to reach, handle and/or feel Regularly required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl Must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 lbs and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 lbs Ability to sit or stand in a stationary position for up to 8 hours per day, including while using a computer or performing administrative or training-related tasks Must be physically flexible Specific vision abilities required by this position include peripheral vision and depth perception Regularly required to work under stressful conditions, all types of outdoor weather, and varying terrain Applicant must pass a pre-employment drug screen and have a clean driving record.
