Job Description

As a Service Specialist, you will be responsible for monitoring customer requirements through MRP or similar activities. You will analyze MRP data to place order requirements with Purchasing, ensuring timely delivery of needed products to our customers. You will determine customer requirements and expectations to recommend specific products and solutions, and initiate blueprint reviews to support this activity. When applicable, you will recommend alternate products based on cost, availability, or specifications. You will accurately process customer transactions such as orders, quotes, or returns, and coordinate with Purchasing to obtain accurate information from vendors relating to shipment dates and expected delivery dates.

Responsibilities

• Monitor customer requirements through MRP or similar activities.
• Analyze MRP data to place order requirements with Purchasing.
• Determine customer requirements and expectations to recommend specific products and solutions.
• Initiate blueprint reviews to support customer requirements.
• Recommend alternate products based on cost, availability, or specifications.
• Accurately process customer transactions such as orders, quotes, or returns.
• Coordinate with Purchasing to obtain accurate information from vendors regarding shipment dates and expected delivery.
• Monitor scheduled shipment dates to ensure timely delivery and expedite as needed.
• Process vendor receipts and packing lists.
• Provide accurate information regarding the availability of in-stock items.
• Proactively recommend additional items/product lines to customers to increase satisfaction and improve transaction profitability.

Essential Skills

• 1-3 years of sales/customer service experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Strong communication and soft skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• 2+ years in manufacturing experience.
• 2+ years working with fasteners.

Work Environment

Join a team of 110 employees in a decent-sized facility where you will work with MRP systems, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office. The work environment is customer service-oriented, with a focus on inside sales, account management, and hardware support.

This is a Permanent position based out of Harwood Heights, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $60000.00 - $70000.00/yr.
