About the Role
The Company is in search of a Managing Director of Philanthropy to join its Family Governance, Education, and Philanthropy team. This senior leader will be responsible for advising ultra-high-net-worth families on philanthropic strategy, grantmaking, and the effective use of charitable vehicles. The role demands a sophisticated, client-facing advisor who can help families clarify their values, define impact goals, and develop thoughtful grantmaking strategies. The successful candidate will also be involved in integrating philanthropy into broader conversations around governance, education, legacy, and stewardship, and will serve as an internal resource for the company's advisors. Applicants for the Managing Director of Philanthropy position at the company should have a minimum of 10 years' experience in philanthropy, charitable planning, family office advisory, or a related field. Deep knowledge of philanthropic vehicles and structures is essential, as is experience in developing grantmaking strategies and advising on innovative approaches to impact. The role requires excellent facilitation, communication, and relationship-management skills, as well as the ability to work with families on sensitive topics related to wealth, values, and legacy. A collaborative and entrepreneurial spirit, along with the ability to operate strategically and practically across various client advisory and educational functions, is also necessary. Preferred attributes include experience in a multifamily office, wealth management firm, or similar setting, and familiarity with family governance and education.
