Quality Inspector – 2nd Shift

Location: Peosta, IA

Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 3:30 PM–2:00 AM

Shift: 10-hour shifts | Some overtime required Friday evenings and Saturday afternoons

Training: Training will take place on 1st shift

Wage: Starting at $20/hour (Temp-To-Hire Opportunity)

Sedona Staffing Services, in partnership with a local Peosta manufacturer, is seeking a detail-oriented Quality Inspector to join their team. This position plays an important role in ensuring manufactured parts meet established quality standards and customer requirements through quality inspections, audits, measurements, and documentation. The Quality Inspector will work closely with production and quality teams to identify potential issues, verify product specifications, and support continuous quality improvement. The ideal candidate is dependable, organized, able to communicate effectively with team members, and comfortable learning and using a variety of precision inspection equipment.

Essential Functions

Perform quality inspections throughout the production process, including first-piece, in-process, last-piece, and final audit inspections, while ensuring parts meet blueprint specifications and established quality requirements.
Read and interpret blueprints and technical specifications and use appropriate inspection techniques and measuring equipment to verify part dimensions and quality.
Complete receiving and dock audits and perform detailed part layout inspections related to PPAP, ISIR, and APQP requirements.
Use a variety of inspection equipment, including calipers, protractors, micrometers, specialized gaging, and CMM equipment. Training will be provided on equipment as needed.
Utilize statistical process controls (SPC) and accurately document inspection results to help identify trends and maintain consistent product quality.
Support quality and production activities, including painting and engraving templates, assisting with calibration functions, and participating in corrective actions when quality issues are identified.
Work as part of a team by communicating inspection results, quality concerns, and production issues effectively with appropriate team members.
Follow all safety, quality, and ISO policies and procedures while maintaining a clean and organized work environment.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Ability to use a computer, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
Strong organizational and attention-to-detail skills.
Ability to use calipers, protractors, micrometers, specialized gaging, and CMM equipment after training.
Previous experience with inspection equipment is preferred
Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Reliable attendance and punctuality.
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, perform tasks requiring manual dexterity, and walk throughout facility for full shift
Ability to work a 10-hour shift, Monday through Thursday, with some required overtime on Friday evenings and Saturday afternoons.

Ability to follow appropriate ISO policies and procedures.
