Arete is seeking an experienced Configuration Management Engineer to support and lead document control processes across the full product lifecycle—from development through sustainment and end-of-life. We are looking for someone that is highly motivated. We’re looking for a highly motivated, detail-oriented professional who is both a self-starter and a strong collaborator. The ideal candidate will excel at building relationships, communicating effectively, and working across functional teams in a matrixed development environment. This role is responsible for maintaining consistent and accurate configuration control in alignment with SAE EIA-649 standards and Arete's ISO 9001 Quality Management System . The successful candidate will be process-driven, with a continuous improvement mindset to review, streamline, and standardize practices in line with industry best standards. This is a full-time, exempt, non-supervisory position based in Tucson, AZ .

Experiences and Background We Look For (Required Skills): 

• Eligible to obtain and hold a Top Secret clearance.
• Will provide Configuration Management (CM) and Data Management (DM) support to the Systems Engineering Integration & Test (SEIT) Lead, Engineering Manager (EM) and Program Manager (PM).
• Supporting and executing configuration control through system documentation, software, and drawing release, revision, and archival
• Develop and optimize the process for releasing product configurations into the CM system.
• Tracking and delivering project data(documentation, software, drawing packages)
• Drafting Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) and Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs)
• Drafting deviations and waivers; maintaining Bills of Materials (BOMs)
• This position requires coordination and collaboration of activities with other functional groups and project managers within a matrix development environment operational, production-ready system.

Nice to Have (Preferred Skills):

• Knowledge of relevant industry standards and regulations, such as MIL-STD, MIL-HDBK, ISO, ASME
• Candidate should be familiar with SAE-GEIA-859 and MIL-STD-963. 

The salary range for this role is $75,000 to $140,000; however, Arete considers several factors when extending an offer of employment, including but not limited to: the position and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, education/training, and key skills .

Engineer 2, Configuration Management: $75,000 to $90,000 for an Engineer 2 [minimum experience of BS 0-5 years, MS+0 3 years]

Staff Engineer, Configuration Management : $90,000 to $115,000 for a Staff Engineer [minimum experience of BS+5 years, MS+3 years]

Senior Engineer, Configuration Management : $120,000 to $140,000 for a Staff Engineer [minimum experience of BS+7 years, MS+5 years]
