2026-27 Color Guard Instructor

Position Details Date Posted: 6/1/2026 Location: Crowley High School Date Available: August 2026 Primary Purpose As an assistant to the Director of Bands, act as the visionary expert for the Color Guard program. Be responsible for all elements of running the Color Guard program both during marching band and the winter indoor season. Qualifications High School diploma or GED Clear and valid Texas driver's license Special Knowledge and Skills Ability to perform job duties and/or attend meetings required Experience 3-5 years of instructing Color Guard or related areas of study or duties involved. Major Responsibilities and Duties Daily classes at the high school throughout the year (with potential to add more classes in the future as needed). Attend and assist all marching band rehearsals and performances June-October. Participate in winter guard rehearsals for January-March. Participate in evening and weekend winter guard competitions and performances February-March. Provide support for various events on campus and in the community. Attend and assist with summer Color Guard camp. Participate in recruiting events throughout the year. Other Perform any and all duties as assigned. Successfully advance district initiatives. Supervisory Responsibilities None Equipment Used Personal computer, printer, calculator, copier, shredder, fax machine, Color Guard flags, Sound system. Working Conditions Work with frequent interruptions, maintain emotional control under stress. Repetitive hand motions, prolonged use of computer. May be required to perform job duties including ability to conduct instruction, attend meetings and professional development, and make and receive phone calls in a virtual or remote workplace environment.
