Location: Hickory, NC
Start Date: ASAP
End Date: May 2027
Schedule: Full-Time | 37.5 Hours Per Week
Grade Levels: 3rd–5th Grade
Caseload: Approximately 17 Students
Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to join a school district in Hickory, NC for the remainder of the 2026–2027 school year. This position offers the opportunity to support elementary students through a combination of resource, pull-out, and inclusion services.
Responsibilities
- Provide specialized instruction to students in 3rd–5th grade
- Deliver services through resource, pull-out, and inclusion models
- Develop and implement individualized instruction aligned with IEP goals
- Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and families
- Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to student support planning
Qualifications
- EC General Curriculum licensure required
- Valid North Carolina teaching credentials
- Previous special education experience preferred
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Commitment to supporting student academic and social-emotional growth
