Physician Assistant - Wound Care

PA WOUND CARE Location: Wound Center, Meritus Health – Hagerstown, MD Full‑time, Days Salary Range: $124,000 to $145,000/year Responsibilities Work independently and collaborate with physicians to deliver comprehensive wound care services. Coordinate patient care with the healthcare team and adhere to the Nurse Practice Act and ANA Code of Ethics. Document care in the EHR, maintaining patient autonomy, dignity, rights, values, and beliefs. Provide care for a broad spectrum of wounds, including: Acute traumatic wounds Chronic and complex wounds Pressure ulcers Venous ulcers with edema (compression wraps) Diabetic foot ulcers Post‑operative wound dehiscence Advanced treatments such as total contact casting, wound vac, PICO vac, cellular‑based tissue products, and ostomy care Qualifications Wound experience is preferred. PA Requirements Education: Master’s degree in Physician Assistant required. Experience: One year as a Physician Assistant preferred. Licensure/Certification: MD License to practice as a Physician Assistant required. Current DEA Registration and CDS permit required. Current BLS (CPR) certification in compliance with policy required. ACLS certification in compliance with policy required. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Critical thinking and extensive clinical competence. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Excellent organizational skills. Fluency in coding, ICD‑10 and CPT, or commitment to acquire. Ability to work well with all disciplines at all levels. EHR computer access required.
