RWJBarnabas Healthis seeking a highly dedicated Assistant Director of Patient Care for the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU)at the New Brunswick campus. The Pediatric ICU is a 20-bed unit that provides round-the-clock critical care to infants, children, and adolescents with life-threatening illnesses or injuries. They continuously monitor vital signs, manage ventilators, administer high-risk medications, and assist physicians during bedside procedures. The team provides emotional support and education to families facing stressful medical crises. As a state designated Level 1 trauma center, the unit cares for patients before and after complex procedures. The multidisciplinary team delivers highly specialized monitoring, critical care interventions, and evidence-based treatment focused on achieving optimal patient outcomes throughout the continuum of care. The Assistant Director of Patient Care plays a pivotal role in supporting the Director of Patient Care in overseeing the delivery of high-quality, patient centered nursing services within a designated unit or department. This position combines clinical expertise, leadership, and administrative responsibilities to ensure efficient operations, staff development & engagement, and compliance with regulatory standards. The Assistant Director fosters a collaborative environment, promotes patient safety, and drives quality improvement initiatives while assisting in the management of daily operations and long-term strategic goals. This role is also responsible in assisting with administrative tasks such as scheduling, budgeting, and compliance.
