Overview  

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail‐oriented Cost Controller to support and oversee multiple facilities within our organization. This role will serve as a key business partner to both Operations and Accounting, ensuring accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, and effective financial management across the business. 

The ideal candidate brings robust expertise in accounting principles, financial analysis, and regulatory compliance—ideally within a manufacturing environment. This position plays a critical role in managing financial statements, supporting strategic planning, and delivering insightful financial and operational reporting. 

Key Responsibilities  

• Prepare and review financial statements, reports, and analyses to support leadership decision‐making. 
• Support cash flow management, working capital analysis, and ad‐hoc reporting for leadership. 
• Partner with Accounting to review and approve journal entries and account reconciliations. 
• Oversee daily, weekly, and monthly entity‐level reporting. 
• Manage inventory accounting processes and strengthen controls to ensure accuracy. 
• Collaborate with Operations to improve and maintain inventory levels and expectations. 
• Lead budgeting and forecasting activities. 
• Analyze and communicate variances versus budget and forecast. 
• Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations through strong internal controls. 
• Develop, maintain, and enhance absorption calculations. 
• Serve as an ERP champion, supporting operational, financial, and reporting needs. 
• Drive process improvements and support system optimization initiatives. 
• Stay current on industry trends and regulatory developments to ensure compliance and continuous improvement. 

Other Requirements

• Travel: Up to 25% travel required, including up to one week per month across various sites.

Physical Demands

• Extended Periods of Sitting: Frequent sitting at a desk or during meetings throughout the workday.
• Computer & Phone Use: Constant use of laptops, phones, and other electronic devices.
• Repetitive Motions: Regular typing, mouse use, and similar repetitive tasks.
• Occasional Standing/Walking: Ability to move throughout the production facility and participate in inventory audits.
• Communication: Must be able to speak, listen, and present information clearly to stakeholders at all levels, both in person and virtually.
• Lifting/Carrying: Occasional lifting or carrying of items up to 10 lbs.
• The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.

Qualifications  

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required; advanced degree preferred. 
• Experience supporting multi‐entity, multi‐state, or national financial operations. 
• Strong familiarity with technical accounting topics, including GAAP and complex account analysis. 
• Proficiency with financial systems and modern accounting technologies. 
• Demonstrated ability to maintain internal controls and ensure compliance. 
• Excellent communication skills with strong attention to detail. 
• Highly self‐motivated, organized, and accountable.
