Position Description

Project Executive | Special Projects Group

Do you enjoy building lasting client relationships, developing new opportunities, and delivering projects from concept to completion?

Auburn Mechanical is seeking a Project Executive to join our Special Projects Group. This is a seller-doer role for someone who enjoys developing client relationships, identifying and pursuing project opportunities, estimating and executing work, and managing projects from preconstruction through closeout.

What You'll Do

Business Development

• • Develop and maintain relationships with general contractors, owners, design consultants, and facility managers.
  • Identify, pursue, and secure construction projects.
  • Develop client pursuit strategies and maintain an active sales pipeline.
  • Prepare and deliver proposals.
  • Grow existing client relationships while developing new accounts.

Preconstruction & Estimating

• • Develop conceptual budgets and accurate project estimates.
  • Lead preconstruction efforts from initial budgeting through contract execution.
  • Collaborate with clients and design teams to develop practical, value-driven solutions.
  • Transition projects successfully into construction.

Project Management

• • Manage projects from award through closeout.
  • Lead project planning, permitting, buyout, safety, quality, schedule, and financial performance.
  • Maintain strong communication with clients, subcontractors, vendors, and field teams.
  • Foster repeat business by delivering an exceptional client experience.

Leadership

• • Mentor and support Project Engineers and Project Managers.
  • Promote collaboration between office and field teams.
  • Lead by example and embody Auburn Mechanical's core values.

• • Generate $4M to $6M in annual revenue through trusted relationships and repeat business.
  • Maintaining a healthy, active pipeline of opportunities.
  • Delivering projects that consistently meet or exceed expectations for safety, quality, schedule, profitability, and client satisfaction.
  • Being a go-to partner for clients who trust you to solve problems, not just manage projects.

Position Requirements

We're looking for someone with a strong background in business development, preconstruction, project management, and client leadership who thrives in a collaborative, high-performance culture. Ideal candidates bring significant industry experience, a proven ability to generate and close business opportunities, a thorough knowledge of estimating, scheduling, project financials, and industry-standard contracting practices, and a passion for developing people and teams.

Successful candidates will also demonstrate:

• • Proven experience selling and managing mechanical construction projects.
  • Strong relationship-building and communication skills.
  • The ability to estimate, negotiate, and execute projects with minimal supervision.
  • Strong financial and business acumen.
  • A proactive, team-first mindset with a commitment to continuous improvement.
