Clinic Nurse Practitioner - Full-time

WPHPA Gastro DDNCW_1 Work Shift: The WPPA Nurse Practitioner is responsible for providing primary care services, including assessing, diagnosing, Works closely with physicians and other clinicians in a team approach to patient care. May specialize in a specific type of clinical care, e.g. pediatrics, geriatrics. Understands and adheres to the WPH Performance Standards, Policies and Behaviors. Formulates and implements a therapeutic plan of care with physicians Assesses daily plan of care and recommends actions in collaboration with the patient’s physician. Communicates with patient/family regarding plan of care and discharge plan. Interacts with third party insurers regarding plan of care and continued stay. Inpatient rounding – assist physicians with pre-op and post-op patient assessments. Assist physicians as requested with appropriate Master’s degree in nursing from an accredited school. Current NYS license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse. Current NYS certification as a Nurse Practitioner (either Adult/Geriatric). ACLS certification required as of 6/1/21 for NPs/PAs in Center for Advanced Medicine & Surgery (CAMS) & Cancer Minimum two years’ experience in an acute care setting. Ability to act in a professional capacity and serve as a professional role model

• Ability to respond to frequent phone calls
• May be exposed to chemicals necessary to perform required tasks. Any hazardous chemicals the employee may

be exposed to are listed in the hospital’s SDS (Safety Data Sheet) data base and may be accessed through the hospital’s Intranet site (Employee Tools/SDS Access). A copy of the SDS data base can also be found at the hospital switchboard, saved on a disc. Primary Population Served Infant (29 days – less than 1 year) ☐Patients with developmental delays
