The Manager of Research Operations oversees all technical services functions, including cataloging, acquisitions, renewals, invoice processing, and collection management—both physical and electronic. The manager builds alignment across stakeholders through clear communication, supports contract lifecycle management, and assists with annual budget preparation. They are responsible for maintaining electronic resource lists for user accessibility and overseeing collection development. Candidates should possess a master's degree in library science from an ALA-accredited institution and have approximately seven years of progressive experience in a fast-paced professional environment like a law firm. Demonstrated expertise in managing technical services, implementing process improvements, and supporting library systems is essential. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong interpersonal, organizational, and analytical skills, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with integrated library systems. This role is ideal for professionals who can show relevant experience or transferable skills. Preferred candidate locations include DC, Tysons, VA, San Diego, San Francisco, Sacramento, Los Angeles, Nashville, TN, or New York. Salary range is $130,000 to $185,000, dependent on experience and skills.
