Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical Surgical / Telemetry

Location

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Night Shift | 12-Hour Shifts (7PM–7AM) | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a combined adult and pediatric Med/Surg Telemetry unit with a 1:5 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Manage a diverse patient population including COPD, post-op, GI bleeds, OB/GYN surgeries, orthopedic, sepsis, altered mental status, chest pain rule-out, stroke, cellulitis, and ETOH withdrawal
• Titrate and manage drips including Heparin and Protonix as needed
• Operate and monitor respiratory therapy equipment including CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow oxygen
• Participate in on-call and standby requirements as scheduled
• Follow weekend rotation expectations of every other weekend or 4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule, and integrate into holiday staffing rotation

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license valid in California
• Minimum 2–3 years of experience in Medical Surgical nursing
• Telemetry experience required
• BLS certification required
• Ability to work a fast-paced unit with an average patient length of stay of approximately 3 days

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Pediatric Med/Surg experience strongly preferred; candidates without pediatric experience will not be assigned to pediatric patients
• PALS certification preferred
• Experience managing Heparin and Protonix drips
• Prior experience in OB or telemetry settings beneficial for optional floating opportunities
