CNC Machinist - 3rd Shift

CNC Setup Machinist

Opening on 3rd shift (11:00pm - 7:30am) with a growing precision manufacturing company in the Greer area.

This position will be responsible for setting up and operating multiple CNC grinding and machining centers used in the production of high-precision carbide cutting tools. The ideal candidate will have hands on Rollomatic experience, be comfortable setting up and managing several machines simultaneously, and possess the maturity and self-motivation required to work with minimal supervision.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced machinist who enjoys working independently, taking ownership of their work, and contributing to the growth of a new shift operation. As production continues to grow, this role offers the potential to develop into a future lead position on 3rd shift.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and monitor CNC grinding and machining equipment
• Manage production across 5-6 machines simultaneously
• Perform machine changeovers, offsets, and setup adjustments
• Conduct in-process inspections and verify product quality
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications
• Utilize measuring instruments to ensure dimensional accuracy
• Troubleshoot machining and process issues as they arise
• Perform basic machine maintenance and housekeeping tasks
• Maintain production and quality documentation

Qualifications

• 2+ years of CNC machining, grinding, or tool manufacturing experience
• Experience performing machine setups and changeovers
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision
• Experience reading blueprints and GD&T preferred
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Experience with OD (Outside Diameter) grinding highly preferred
• Experience with Rollomatic equipment, particularly NP50 machines, is a strong plus
• Tool grinding, carbide tooling, or cutter grinding experience is highly desirable
