Maintenance Technician Job SummarySchedule: Full Time, schedule may include evenings, weekends, and on-call response as needed Pay: $18.50 - $24.06/hr Location: Broome County, NY Benefits: Medical, dental, vision, retirement, company-paid life and disability coverage, optional voluntary plans, and 33 days of PTO for eligible full-time employeesThe Maintenance Technician Level I is responsible for performing a variety of skilled and semi-skilled maintenance, repair, and construction tasks across agency facilities and grounds. The Maintenance Technician Level 1's specific duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Perform installation, service, and repair of residential appliancesCabinets, shelving, doors, windows, screens, and locksFlooring, walls, roofs, and furniturePlumbing fixtures (sinks, toilets, showers, water heaters, drain lines)Heating and air conditioning unitsElectrical wiring, communication lines, and related systemsDiagnose and repair common and repetitive mechanical or structural issues with minimal supervisionPerform preventative maintenance on agency buildings, equipment, and systemsIdentify deficiencies and complete repairs in compliance with NYS Building Code and NFPA Life Safety Code; report complex issues requiring advanced repairPrepare surfaces and perform interior and exterior paintingComplete general grounds maintenance, including lawn care and snow removalConduct regular inspections of buildings and grounds, reporting safety or maintenance concernsMaintain maintenance logs, records, and documentation related to work orders, repairs, and materialsAssist with moving furniture, equipment setup, and general facility needsLoad and unload equipment, supplies, and materialsPerform other related duties as assigned by supervisorRequirementsHigh school diploma or equivalency requiredTwo (2) years of relevant maintenance, construction, or trade experience preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
