Civil3D Survey CAD Technician / Draftsman

Wilson & Company, Inc., Engineers & Architects, a national multi-disciplined surveying and engineering firm, seeks a full-time Civil3d Survey CAD Technician/Draftsman for their Loveland, CO office wherein they will work as part of a growing team to provide land surveying and geospatial solutions for the AEC industry, working on both in-house and external clients’ projects. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, organized, and responsible, and should be able to work in a team-based, collaborative environment as well as independently. The candidate should have a minimum of five years of experience in the land surveying field with knowledge and experience including land surveying principles, practices and theory; land surveying instrumentation and data collection; data processing and rendering; completions drafting of presentation-grade products; communicating survey findings in an intelligible manner to accurately inform stakeholders. Position has the capability of a negotiated, hybrid schedule for the right candidate.Key Responsibilities:Drawing production: under the purview of the professional land surveyor, draft various monumented land surveys, ALTAs, legal descriptions/exhibits, and topographic surveysData processing: perform Trimble Business Center project adjustments, analyses, management, and error resolution prior to the importation of survey data into a CADD environmentDeliverable preparation: perform completions drafting efforts to finalize land surveying and geospatial products prior to delivery with the goal of providing high-quality, easily interpretable deliverablesAccountability: maintain high ethical standards and accountability for data and drawings issued, always striving towards doing the right thing and delivering objective, accurate findings/resultsCollaboration: work closely with surveying, engineering, and construction management teams to provide essential surveying data for project planning, design, and execution; work closely with survey field crews to execute projects as well as continuously evolve field-to-finish processes with the goal of increasing efficiency and accuracy of productsField data collection: assist survey crews (as needed) in completing various field survey tasks such as establishing control, running level loops, completing sanitary and storm structure as-builts, performing topographic surveys, recovering property and public lands corner markers and other evidence, etc.Required skills/qualifications:A minimum of 5 years of experience working in the land surveying industry with a minimum of two of those years having been spent in an office roleExpertise in AutoCAD Civil3d and a strong desire to learn Trimble Business CenterAbility to interpret and draft plats, deeds, and various conveyance documents in support of parcel, rights-of-way, and easement basemapping efforts for boundary projects ranging from lot/block monumented land surveys to corridor investigationsAbility to import, modify, analyze, and completions draft 3D survey data to produce presentation-grade topographic survey drawings for design/engineeringExperience performing diligent, self-guided research at the County level as well as via other resources, or a strong desire to advance ones’ document recovery, analysis, and research skillsAbility to meticulously draft, analyze, review, and finalize drawings of survey project regions to ensure accuracy of drawing construction, as-rendered features, and call-outsHave a passion for the land surveying and geospatial industry that serves as a foundation for decision-making, personal accountability, and the desire to learn/advance oneself within the industryExcellent written and verbal communication skills allowing for clear, precise communications between project participants, owners, and stakeholdersMust be in good physical condition and capable of safely and effectively performing the physical tasks associated with survey field work, including lifting, walking over uneven terrain, being stationary for extended periods of time, and working in various outdoor conditionsPreferred skills/qualifications:LSIT (land surveyor-in-training) certificateAssociates degree in Land Surveying/Civil Engineering for CADD technologiesAnnual Salary Range or Hourly Rate: $30.00 - $40.00 (Depending on Experience)Please note that Wilson & Company is not currently sponsoring applicants for work visas.About Us:For nearly a century, Wilson & Company, Inc., Engineers & Architects, has provided award-winning engineering, architecture, planning, environmental, surveying, geospatial, and construction management services.
